Gynecologic and urogynecologic services

Gynecology and urogynecology are two important areas of women's health. Gynecology focuses on the health of the female reproductive system and other conditions affecting females. Urogynecology focuses on conditions that affect the urinary system and pelvic area.

In addition to a wide range of surgical options, we also offer alternative treatment options for these conditions, such as neuromodulation and periurethral injections.

Surgical treatments

Often times, surgical treatment is the best option for many gynecologic and urogynecologic conditions, including gynecologic cancers. At Plantation General Hospital, we offer traditional approaches to surgery and minimally invasive options, such as laparoscopy and robotic surgery.

At Plantation General Hospital, we offer minimally invasive surgical approaches for treating the following conditions:

  • Pelvic floor dysfunction
  • Pelvic floor prolapse, including uterine and vaginal vault prolapse
  • Cervical, ovarian and uterine cancer
  • Endometriosis
  • Excessive bleeding
  • Infertility
  • Ovarian cysts
  • Pelvic pain
  • Uterine fibroids
  • Cystocele
  • Urinary and fecal incontinence
  • Rectocele
  • Recurrent urinary tract infections

Plantation General offers an experienced team of surgeons providing complex surgery options. Alongside this innovative technology, our physicians, nurses and support staff give our patients compassionate, exemplary and individualized surgical care, such as in the following procedures:

  • Colectomy
  • Hysteropexy
  • Paravaginal repair
